Dragana Vasilijević-Valent graduated from the Faculty of Philology – Ukrainian language, literature and culture and Russian language and literature, and later obtained her master’s degree and a PhD at the same faculty. Working on her language skills, Dragana attended several summer schools in the Ukraine (Lviv, Kyiv) and Ukrainian summer school in Germany (Greifswald, 2011, 2014). She worked as a freelance translator for Ukrainian language since 2009, including translations of poetry, drama, prose, and documentaries and as a teacher in higher education (Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, the College of Hotel Management, University of Innsbruck). As devoted Ukrainian as a second language teacher at the Faculty of Philology, Dragana has organized several poetry readings, participated in an organization of an international conference on Ukrainian studies and co-edited a journal about Ukrainian Literature and Culture “Vikno”.
