Lara Calleja is an award-winning author who wrote Lucy Min? and Kissirtu Kullimkien. She landed two literature prizes from the National Book Council in 2020 and 2021, as well as another prize awarded by The European Prize for Literature as Best Emerging Author in 2021. Lara was commissioned by Spazju Kreattiv to write a theatrical play, Taralalla, which was held in November 2021. In March 2022, she also wrote a monologue for Spazju Kreattiv that addressed female contemporary issues. Lara works as a writer in different commercial sectors. She is a certified proofreader for both Maltese and English. Lara dedicates her time to social activism, and in her free time, she likes to indulge in photography, history and farming.
