Maša Dabić

Born in Sarajevo in 1981, lives in Austria since 1992; studied translation and interpreting studies in Innsbruck, St. Petersburg and Edinburgh (English and Russian), translates literature from the Balkan region (prose, poetry, theatre, essays etc.). She lives in Vienna works as an interpreter in the field of asylum and conferences and teaches Russian interpreting at the University of Vienna. Her debut novel „Reibungsverluste“ (Edition Atelier, 2017) was shortlisted for the Austrian Book Prize 2017; in 2018 she received the City of Vienna’s Literature Promotion Prize.
