Radoš Kosović was born 1984. in Belgrade. He finished his bachelor studies in scandinavian languages and literature at the Belgrade University, and his master studies in scandinavian languages and literature at Agder University, Kristiansand, Norway. He currently lives in Belgrade and works as a literary translator.
From norwegian he has translated the prose works of Erlend Loe, Karl Ove Knausgård, Jon Fosse, Jostein Gaarder, Jens Bjørneboe, Alexander Kielland, Merethe Lindstrøm, Jo Nesbø, Maria Parr, Maja Lunde, Linn Ullmann, Gunnstein Bakke, Nina Lykke, Geir Gulliksen, Tor Ulven, Maria Navarro Skaranger and Therese Tungen, the poetry of Tone Hødnebø, Kirsti Blom and Jon Fosse, the plays of Henrik Ibsen and Jon Fosse, and the philosophical essays of Espen Hammer and Lars Svendsen.
From danish he has translated the prose works of Karen Blixen, Willy Sørensen, Herman Bang Foss, Jakob Martin Strid, Dorthe Nors, Kaspar Collinga Nielsen, Tomas Korsgård, Asta Olivia Nordenhof, Tove Ditlevsen, Gertrude Kiel and Tom Kristensen.
In 2015. he has received the Miloš N. Đurić award for best prose translation for Merethe Lindstrøm, Dager i stillhetens historie, and the Aleksandar I. Spasić award for best non-fiction translation in 2013-2015 for Lars Fr. H. Svendsen, Frihetens Filosofi. In 2022. he has received the Nikola Trajković award for best poetry translation in 2019-2021 for Jon Fosse, Hund og engel.
